Bantu American Friendship Association (BAFAW) was established as a non-profit organization in 2005. The purpose of the organization is to meet the needs of the Somali Bantu community in Milwaukee and its surroundings.
Bantu American Friendship Association is committed to provide many programs and services to the community. These services include social, educational, recreational, cultural and religious activities.
We have intensified our outreach efforts, expanded our programs and services, established new collaborations, networking and partnerships with both mainstream and ethno-cultural organizations in the city and increased our funding base substantially.
Mission

- To assist multi-barrier youth to overcome social obstacles and become active members in the greater community
- To develop comprehensive programs that can enhance the daily lives of our youth
- To reduce the risk factors currently facing our youth
- Staying in school to - encouraging academic excellence
- Getting involved in community recreation and sporting events
Goals
By promoting and developing the community’s traditional values and sense of belonging, Bantu American Friendship Association will develop programs based upon the needs of the community.
By providing guidance and sound foundations, Bantu American Friendship Association will build the community’s capacity to cope with the ever-changing issues facing the community.
