The purpose of this program is to promote the social gathering of the Somali Bantu families in Milwaukee. Through this program Bafaw members meet with the newly arrived Somalis to exchange ideas, socialize, and share ethnic dishes.

Indoor/Outdoor Sports

This is a recreational activity designed for the community's children and adults. It consists of indoor and outdoor games. In the winter time the community with the help of Milwaukee city facilities and the Community Center organizes indoor soccer and basketball for the children, youth and the adults.

Every summer the community organizes outdoor soccer for all ages.

Community Events

This is another program of fun and physical activities. Bafaw organizes Eid festivals, picnics, and other community events for the Somalis in Milwaukee and vicinity.

Every summer we go to the Milwaukee parks and have a barbeque with different activities.

Summer Day Programs for Children

During the summer months many parents want to find sporting or recreational activities for their children. These activities are called summer programs and you will find them available at our local community centre.

Reminds parents and children about the need to protect themselves from overexposure to the sun.
